Entrepreneurial or Entrepreneur

Be Entrepreneurial

One of the problems with first-timers in the world of entrepreneurship is how to make a beginning. How does one prepare for being a successful entrepreneur? While there is no perfect course or programme to make an entrepreneur, my suggestion is to try being entrepreneurial as early as possible. Here are few things you can do to be entrepreneurial:

Learn a new skill

It can be a programming skill or playing a guitar (any musical instrument or art that suits you). Discover your hidden talent and learn something new. This opens up your thought process, makes you more agile and brings new possibilities to your career plans. And who knows you may end up meeting like-minded people in the process.

Travel to a new city

When I was 17 years old, I had traveled to Bhopal from Kanpur alone for the first time in life for a SSB interview. Those four days of travel taught me more than 14 years of schooling. I met disciplined army people (and learned to lead that kind of life), fought strangers who had occupied my train berth (don’t know where that strength came from), made friends from across India including doctors, and watched a late night movie for the first time. Somewhere I feel that trip changed me and has helped me in Nurture Talent Academy, where we have conducted entrepreneurship workshops in 100 cities across India.

Be a part of social initiatives

There are crores of people in India who don’t have food, clothes, education or internet. Once you work with or for a social initiative, you realize a new meaning to life. It can help you professionally as well and you can discover problems that are worth solving.

Talk to strangers

Being friendly is first step to being friends. If you can connect with strangers on Facebook, then what is the harm in connecting face to face! Start dealing with people, then you will find dealing with computers and machines easy. Go ahead, try out something new and discover the entrepreneur in you!
